I’m a 21year old university student from London, who works part time at a luxury retailer and enjoys fashion and good nights out. All the above involve, to some degree, looking good.
By looking good I mean no overhang, no chunky thighs, no pregnant belly and NO FACIAL FLAB. You can photoshop all but facial flab.
Anyhow… I’m 5’5” and just before Christmas weighed 8st7lb, and had the ideal BMI of 19.5.
However, come New Years I developed Bells Palsy and an Unpleasant Migraine, which manifested itself in my left Limbs. Since then I’ve been on lots of unpleasant medication and have changed my lifestyle quite a bit. I’ve hardly been out this year in comparison to last year, I’ve been eating mostly pizza, and other student-y orderable foods; and it doesn’t help that my medication makes me hungry, slows my metabolism and makes me feel really drowsy. I knew I was putting on weight, when my blazer at work became tight, when I could feel fat on my face and neck, and when I got asked (seriously) if I was pregnant, I knew I had to do something about it!
I had my annual medical at work on Sunday 15th March 08 and my weight is now TWO STONES more than before, bringing my BMI up to 24.5, making me 0.4 away from being clinically overweight.
My body is so full of junk right now there’s no wonder I feel drained and lazy, I need to kick my body back into gear, starting with my metabolism. Cayenne pepper is meant to speed it up… At first I was considering drinking the lemon-cayenne-maple concoction just at morning and night, and eat normally otherwise, but then I figured I’m the kind of person who would get too confident and end up eating even more than usual; so I put my food down and vowed to go the whole damn way.
No food
No snacks
No drinks
Just water
And the lemon-cayenne-maple mixture.
I hope this brings more insight to those who consider this route. It worked as a quick-fix weight loss plan for Beyoncé for “Dreamgirls” (though she’s gorgeous anyway), but even though it worked she still said she wouldn’t recommend it. I know it’ll be tough and painful and all the rest of it, but if it truly is a detox I should feel amazing afterwards, and my body should be healing itself beautifully. If not, and I screw my body up, hopefully others should learn from my mistake and not attempt the Master Cleanse.
